You arrive in Dagebüll. The ferry is waiting, gulls are circling, the air tastes of salt. You go on board, step out onto the deck, feel the wind. The ferry sets off – and you let go. The North Sea breeze clears the head, the sea calms, and the island draws nearer.
Amrum is not just around the corner – and that is a good thing. Anyone who arrives here has left everyday life far behind them. Here is how to plan your journey to us in Norddorf:
By ship
From April to October:
From Nordstrand / Strucklahnungshörn with the MS „Adler-Express“ operated by the shipping company Adler-Schiffe. You can leave your car in the car park for free and enjoy your car-free holiday.

By car
By car to the island? We recommend booking a parking space on the ferry by calling 04681/800 or online.
Arriving in Wittdün, follow your satnav to Norddorf; right in the middle of the pedestrianised zone you will find our Strunwai.
Parking: On-site parking spaces and two EV charging stations (for a fee) are available at the hotel.
By train
As far as Dagebüll and onwards by ship.
Tip: Book your journey including the ferry with Deutsche Bahn. DB luggage service in conjunction with a valid rail ticket. Delivery takes place after three working days.
Possible by motorail train from Lörrach and Munich to Hamburg-Altona.
By plane
From April to October: By private aircraft or scheduled flight to Sylt (Sylt Airport) or Wyk auf Föhr (Wyk Airfield).
From Sylt Hörnum to Amrum with the MS „Adler-Express“ or the MS „Adler IV“.
All year round: From Wyk auf Föhr via W.D.R. ferry to the island of Amrum.
On the ferry: Letting go included.
The crossing from Dagebüll to Amrum takes about 90 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the connection – correspondingly longer for trips with a stopover on Föhr. In the summer months, there is sometimes a faster catamaran connection.
Make the most of the time: go on deck, take a breath, and watch as the mainland gets smaller and the island gets bigger. The holiday starts now at the latest.
Arrived on Amrum
Scheduled bus: As far as the terminus in Norddorf and then approx. 200 m to the hotel.
Chauffeur service: You are welcome to arrange your pick-up time in advance with the Amrum chauffeur service „Amrum A nach B“ on 0171 3287237. Further information can be found at www.amrumfahren.de.
By car: From the ferry onto the island, straight ahead through the villages of Süddorf and Nebel until you reach Norddorf. At the first crossroads, turn left into Dünemwai and go to the very end. Here, turn right into Fleegamwai, and drive along the street until you reach the pedestrian zone (Strunwai).
